Hormone Balance: Key to Health

Hormones regulate our bodies and when they are in balance we feel beautiful, energetic, sexual, and overall feel great. However, when they aren't functioning as they should which may occur during adolescence, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause or Menopause, andropause or medication/surgically induced we often feel awful. Symptoms may include depression, poor sleep, fatigue, irritability, low libido, weight gain, palpitations, hair loss, acne, joint pain, memory loss, or infertility. This can lead to unnecessary tests, medications and surgeries.

As a nurse practitioner my priority is to look at WHY your symptoms are happening and focus on that aspect, rather than only treating your symptoms. If what you are experiencing is related to an imbalance of your hormones then investigating and treating hormones will be more successful vs prescribing medications such as antidepressants or anti anxiety meds, sleeping pills, anti-inflammatories, or beta blockers for palpitations. This doesn't mean that balancing hormones will always 'fix everything'! You may still need to have other prescriptions, diagnostics, or procedures.

Along with balancing hormones, I will also look at other aspects of your health including gut biome, nutrition, exercise, stress level, and mental wellness. Plastic surgery, neuromodulators (like Botox or Dysport), medical grade skincare can help with our external appearance but if we don't focus on our internal health, then we will continue to struggle.

Our health is our wealth!
